Experience a hands-on science fun for adults! Science After Dark provides the opportunity to visit CSC exhibits, learn from experts, and engage with science after hours. We have dissections, star talks, and laser shows! Events include adult beverages available for donation. Details for future events will be announced quarterly. Join us August 14th for a laser show with showings of your favorites by Pink Floyd! The Wall at 6:00 PM and Dark Side of the Moon at 7:15 PM. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Beer and wine will be available for a donation.

Join us July 12th for an all things 80's after hours laser show! Witness a celebration of The Artist and his music through the decades, from Little Red Corvette to Diamonds & Pearls! Let's Go Crazy! Plus a mashup of popular 80's artists including The Cure, Depeche Mode, and INXS. Grab your neon and big hair, its time to rock out 80's style! Doors open at 5:30 PM. Beer and wine will be available for a donation.

It’s a Cruel Summer without T-Swift. Leave a Blank Space in your calendar for this special after hours event on Friday, June 13th, for another showing of the Taylor Swift laser show! Feel free to dress as your favorite Swift Era, bring friendship bracelets to swap, and enjoy an adult beverages before or after the show. We’ll be Enchanted to meet you there! Showings 5:30 PM and 6:45 PM. Doors open at 5 PM. Beer and wine will be available for a donation.

Join us for a wild night at Catawba Science Center with the birds, bees, and butterflies on May 22nd from 6 – 9 PM! Explore all of CSC exhibits in both buildings, and weather permitting, our newly opened FlutterBy Habitat. Enjoy a planetarium show at 6:30 PM or 7:30 PM, a scavenger hunt , and learn about animal reproduction from LRU biologists! Admission is free for members and $16 for non-members. Beer and wine will be available for a donation. We hope to see you there!

Join us for an unforgettable evening of creativity and competition at "Imagine. Drink. Play." on March 20th from 6 – 9 pm! Enjoy a game night at CSC’s new featured exhibit or unleash your inner engineer and tackle open-ended challenges designed to spark your imagination. Compete against fellow innovators in a series of yet-to-be-revealed challenges for the ultimate bragging rights. At the end of the night, one lucky participant will be crowned "Engineer Extraordinaire" and earn the title of the evening's top creative genius. Don't miss out on this adults-only night of fun, drinks, and playful ingenuity! Doors open at 5:00 pm. Beer and wine will be available for a donation. Guests are invited to bring their own board games!

Rock Valentine's Day with the timeless sounds of Pink Floyd! A showing of your favorites from "Dark Side of The Moon" at 6:30pm & "The Wall" at 7:30pm. This place was great. We have kids from 8 to 1 and they all had a great time. What I really liked is most of the exhibits are hands on and that really kept them occupied.
Fabulous and I don’t often give praise. We took our grandson and were there for hours. He loved it and so did we.
Took the kiddos and they loved it. Employees were nice and helpful. If your looking for something to do with the kids give this place a shot.
What a wonderful place to visit! Great environment to learn and the staff is very helpful! Hickory is lucky to have great family education and entertainment.
We love the Science Center! I take my 2 and 4 year old boys weekly to play and enjoy the exhibits. The staff are wonderful and the classes offered are excellent! We are so blessed to have such an amazing resource in our area.
